AB0822 BREASTFEEDING AMONG WOMEN WITH RHEUMATIC DISEASES: ANALYSIS OF DATA FROM THE P-RHEUM.IT STUDY

Background: The World Health Organization recommends that infants should be exclusively breastfed until the age of 6 months. aim this study was to assess ratio breastfeeding patients with Rheumatic Diseases (RD) and identify possible causes its discontinuation. Objectives: Methods: This embedded in P-RHEUM.it register, as a nationwide prospective cohort collecting data pregnancies inflammatory RD. Pregnancies, enrolled 20th week pregnancy, are followed from pregnancy months postpartum. At baseline, sociodemographic parameters, obstetric history, comorbidities reported. During course maternal disease, development foetus complications After delivery, outcome, on lactation child collected. Results: From May 2018 2020 349 were available. Data available 44 pregnancies. Two after delivery 37 continuing (n=26) or mixed feeding (n=11), while 7 using formula feeding. Among 2 had diagnosis rheumatoid arthritis (RA), 1 juvenile idiopathic arthritis, undifferentiated (UA), anti-phospholipid syndrome (APS), vasculitis systemic lupus erythematosus. reasons following: for agalactia, personal preferences, 3 drug-related concerns (1 physician’s decision patient APS; about drugs RA UA treated respectively Adalimumab Tocilizumab). 30 continued (n=23) (n=7) 14 9 patients: APS positive antibodies; drugs. Conclusion: Preliminary demonstrate high percentage breastfeeding/mixed among women Drug related main reason discontinuation breastfeeding, although medication results compatible lactation.
